Succession AI Inc. ("we", "us", "our") operates this business valuation platform (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal and financial information when you use our Service, including when you connect your QuickBooks Online account.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Contact information (email address, name, phone number)
  • Business information (industry, website, employee count, tenure)
  • Financial estimates (annual revenue, annual profit)

Information from QuickBooks Online (when you connect):

  • Company name and basic company information
  • Profit and Loss statements (up to 5 years of history)
  • Balance Sheet data
  • Cash Flow statements
  • Chart of accounts and account classifications
  • Accounting method (cash or accrual basis)

We access your QuickBooks data in read-only mode. We cannot modify, create, or delete any data in your QuickBooks account.

Information collected automatically:

  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • IP address and approximate location
  • Device type and operating system

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To calculate and display business valuation estimates
  • To provide financial analysis and projections based on your data
  • To send you your valuation report via email (when requested)
  • To improve the accuracy of our valuation methodology
  • To communicate with you about the Service
  • To comply with legal obligations

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
  • Access controls and authentication for internal systems
  • Regular security monitoring and logging
  • Secure credential management via Google Cloud Secret Manager

QuickBooks OAuth tokens are stored encrypted in our database and are never exposed to the frontend or shared with third parties.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial information to third parties. We may share information only in the following cases:

  • Service providers: Cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud), email delivery (SendGrid), and error monitoring (Sentry) — only as needed to operate the Service
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or government request
  • Business transfer: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

6. QuickBooks Data Handling

When you connect your QuickBooks Online account:

  • We request read-only access to your accounting data
  • You can disconnect at any timefrom our Service or from your QuickBooks settings (Apps > My Apps > Disconnect)
  • Upon disconnection, we delete your QuickBooks OAuth tokens immediately
  • We retain aggregated financial summaries for your valuation history unless you request full deletion
  • We may periodically re-sync your data (typically twice monthly) to keep your valuation current — you will be notified of significant changes

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Assessment data (valuations submitted without an account) is retained indefinitely unless you request deletion. You can request deletion of all your data by contacting us at the email below.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Object to processing of your data

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies and session storage to maintain your session and store temporary valuation results. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
